Door County Mom has been in many nooks and crannies of Door County. I’ve explored all roads, and I have sampled many a-treats. Below, find the few spots that many Door County visitors do not know about! Shhhh! I’m sharing them just with you so you too can enjoy a few of the things that I share only with close friends!

Rope Maze, Seaquist Orchards – Sister Bay

Seaquist Orchards, on the northern end of Sister Bay on HWY 42, has an amazing outdoor tree maze, open from dawn to dusk. It’s a blast for kids and adults, and it is FREE! Chances are, you will not get to the center of the maze — it’s THAT hard! Have fun!! Map

Walk-in Free Library, Hidden Acres Farm – Sister Bay

Just off HWY 42 on the north end of town is Beach Road, and there you will find a teeny tiny walk-in free library, and it’s just about the cutest thing you’ve ever seen. With books for both adults and kids, this is a treasure your whole family will enjoy. This is a bonus stop if the Farm Stand is open! Map

Scenic Overlook, Ellison Bay Bluff – Ellison Bay

A short drive off Hwy 42 leads you to a beautiful gravel road and a long winding drive. The overlook is right next to the parking lot with a beautiful view of Lake Michigan. If you’d like to stay longer, enjoy a picnic lunch or an easy hike through the area. Map

Chocolate Chip Pie at Sweetie pies – Fish Creek

Head to the Settlement Shops on HWY 42. Hands down thee best pie in the peninsula. And that says a lot being that some of the pies in this area are the best in the USA. Even if you don’t care for chocolate chip cookies, you will not be able to resist this pie, especially when warm. Do. Not. Miss. This. Map

Jorns’ Sugar Bush Maple Syrup – Egg Harbor

You’ve seen the signs perhaps but who goes out of their way just for maple syrup? You do! Drive up to the Jorns’ homestead, ring the big dinner bell, step into the shop (turn on the lights!) and wait for Mrs. Jorns to slowly head out of her house to greet you. It’s a hoot! Off HWY 42 on T. Map
