Have you been to The Red Putter in Door County yet?
There are a few places to play mini golf in Door County, and ALL of them are fun. We’ve been to each more than once; not a season goes by without a few competitive games with my kiddo and me. Oliver is no stranger to a hole-in-one either, often achieving 1-2 at each course ever since he was 3. (OK I’ve got bragging rights.)
The Red Putter is one of our very favorite stops in Door County for these reasons:
- It’s not a franchise. This place was built by one man with a vision in mind. His quirky and creative ideas have given families and folks a joyful afternoon for many years.
- The course is quirky and silly and a lot of fun.
- The fee is only $4. That’s right! It’s the best $4 you’ll ever spend! (Oops! As of 2019, the price is $5 per person. Still a great deal!)
After you complete your play, hand your clubs back to the friendly people in the service hut and take a gander at how many pieces of candy are in the jar. Each week The Red Putter holds a contest. You get to fill out your best guess, and the person with the closest guess wins the pot! If you’re not in town, The Red Putter will send you the candy! How fun is that?
Did you know…
The Red Putter also hosts an annual Red Putter Pro Tournament each August, which attracts scores of golfers from around the country to compete for the coveted Red Jacket and $2,000 in prizes.
